What is ONE BUS? It’s a one-stop-shop reservation transport process app that allows the user to book their scheduled journey anywhere in rural Canada to feed into major hubs, such as the metropolis cities of Vancouver and Kelowna. The first of its kind in Canada, a single point Travel Planning, Reservation, and Customer Service “Connected Network” platform for Northern BC. The solution, ONE BUS, will give current service providers the opportunity to present routes and capacity and, most importantly from a customer experience perspective, to seamlessly connect. The platform is comprised of three primary customer facing components: a mobile application, website, and customer service call center. Because of the varied demographics of Northern BC communities as well as access to computers, cellular coverage, and devices, it’s critical to have multiple channels of communication between the Connected Network and citizens, which is why all three customer facing components are essential. For seamless connectivity be achieved, first and foremost, it is critical to have a single source platform where people can easily find the available services, routes, schedules, and fares to plan their travel. In the current landscape, people must first painstakingly figure out what service providers exist, determine the right provider for the right route, then piece the schedules together on their own only to finally make separate reservations with multiple providers through multiple channels in hopes that the connections work. This current state of service is disjointed and non-collaborative. ONE BUS is the Connected Network and will bring together service operators such as transit, private bus, taxi, intercity motorcoach, all working as ONE Team for YOUR benefit.
